The reason for the suspension, Hahn said, was that they had violated Twitter’s “private information regulation”. In a post on the account, Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden was described as a “liar” who is said to be “turning the country back for years.”

A link to a video was also attached to the post. The video is related to an article in the New York Post published Wednesday that raised a big dust in American politics and public life. The newspaper ran some emails from Joe Biden’s son Hunter Biden about his relationship with the Ukrainian energy company Burisma.

It emerged from the letters that Joe Biden, who was vice president of the United States at the time, also spoke about his lucrative business in Ukraine with his son. Biden had denied it before. According to the emails, Hunter Biden introduced his father to the leaders of the Ukrainian giant before Biden, as vice president, put pressure on Ukrainian government officials to fire the attorney general who is investigating possible corruption cases in Burisma.

Politico considered the suspension of Donald Trump’s official Twitter account for his re-election campaign as a further step in social media efforts to prevent the widespread dissemination of information from the New York Post. On Wednesday night, Twitter also suspended the Twitter account of White House spokeswoman Kayleigh McEnany for the same reason.

Andrew Bates, a spokesman for Biden’s campaign, denied late Wednesday that Joe Biden had ever met with Burisma leaders.

In an interview with Fox Television’s business channel on Thursday, Donald Trump was shocked by Twitter’s new decision.
