The coronavirus and the fight against it. The situation at home and in the world.

The National Electoral Commission (NEC) did not validate the referendum on a free coronavirus test on Thursday, the MTI writes.

The question was submitted by László Sebián-Petrovszki (DK) as an individual. The aim of the question was for the state to provide a free PCR test to all Hungarian and European Union citizens residing in Hungary.

According to the majority of NVB, the initiative cannot be verified. It was noted that the issue is not the competence of Parliament, but of its government, but that a national referendum can only be held on an issue that is within the competence of Parliament, not the government. Furthermore, the NVB considers that the initiative does not meet the clarity requirement, since from the matter it can be wrongly concluded that a free PCR test is currently not available.

The NVB also decided on another referendum initiative. The president of the National Association of Retired Parliamentarians, Mihály Karácsony, presented the question individually, with the aim that the heirs of the deceased receive the increase in the supplementary pension retroactively until the last day of the pension paid in excess. be no later than January 1 of the year of death.

The majority of NVB also did not authenticate this issue, saying they wanted to achieve legislation with the same content already in place.

NVB decisions are not final, they can be appealed within 15 days. The DK has already indicated that they will and will head to the Mansion.

Join the Circle until October 20 to receive a tribute in late October.
