The forint was at 363.7 against the euro on Thursday morning, which was a minimal change from the exchange rate on Wednesday night. In recent days, the Hungarian currency has weakened noticeably in the market, it was still almost 2% stronger a week than now, and we have underperformed our regional competitors significantly. We are now at 309.53 against the dollar, while the British pound will cost 402.4 guilders.

Speaking of regional currencies: the Polish zloty started to weaken this morning by 0.2%, while the Czech koruna remains stagnant against the euro. And in the emerging market, the Turkish lira weakened 0.2 percent against the dollar, while the South African rand lost 0.4 percent in the morning.

In recent days the strengthening of the dollar has also been bad for emerging currencies, this morning the US currency has also calmed down a bit, now the price is around 1.174 against the euro, which is the same as on Wednesday night. In the coming period, it will be worth paying attention to the development of the euro-dollar currency pair, as it reflects well the global risk appetite and therefore may also have an impact on the forint. The Japanese yen weakened 0.1 percent against the dollar this morning, as did the British pound, the latest currency waking up to many key days for Brexit as the deal between the parties becomes more urgent.
