One of the biggest Hungarian medalists of the Tokyo Olympics, world swimming champion Kristóf Milák, was also infected with the coronavirus. Milák’s coach, Attila Selmeci, told InfoRádió that the swimmer was very mentally exhausted from his quarantine and also lost a significant amount of muscle. The coach said that the swimmer is better now, he can continue training next week.

At the moment, Kristof is still recovering from the infection. The final diagnosis of whether he is well can be made next Monday, followed by cardiological tests that rule out possible complications.

Selmeci said on the radio.

At the end of September, the athlete was diagnosed with the coronavirus. Milák also had symptoms, he was feverish, weakened, but now he could go to the community, but his doctor would tell him if he could continue training. The coach hopes there will be no more serious complications for the swimmer. According to the technician, Milák was very exhausted from not being able to leave his apartment for ten days.

We tried to talk to him on the phone sometimes but he was quite closed, we felt this is not a pleasant thing before the national championship and the ISL series.

Selmeci noted that the swimmer will also miss the start of the racing season due to the virus.
