It was Rovo who did not go into quarantine when he returned home from skiing in South Tyrol in March, but instead underwent surgery while infected with a coronavirus.

Coronavirus: the second wave

Half a year after the spring outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, the second wave of the pandemic has arrived. The radical increase in the number of infected is forcing more and more countries to re-impose restrictions, despite the fact that the world economy has not even recovered from the effects of the spring outbreak. According to the signs, the second wave also reached Hungary. Follow our news!

On Monday, László Rovó, rector of the University of Szeged, dismissed one of his subordinates, Szatmár Horváth, who is also the head of the Csongrád County Ethics Committee of the Hungarian Medical Chamber. The news was first noticed by health expert Zsombor Kunetz, then wrote about it on Facebook, but the facts were later confirmed by Horváth.

The body headed by Horváth launched an ethical investigation against László Rovó in March after the rector was skiing in South Tyrol during the first wave of the coronavirus epidemic, but did not go into quarantine when he returned from there, returning to work and operating in place. It was soon revealed: Rovo was infected with a coronavirus.

However, the proceedings against Rovo were not carried out by the Győr-Moson-Sopron County Regional Organization of the MOK, nor by Csongrád County. The result was that the board acquitted Rovo because, in its opinion, the rector had acted lawfully and responsibly when he set out to operate after his trip to northern Italy. Rovo has now acquitted Szatmar Horváth, who initiated the first trial.
