It was not a shame to be involved in the Péter Gothár harassment case, because changes had occurred, but I would not encourage anyone to come up with such a problem now.

Gábor Máté, general director of the Katona József Theater, spoke about this on Alinda Veiszer’s program, writes Magyar Hang. In addition to not regretting the position, Matthew says:

“I don’t think you should play it like a big drum, maybe like a small drum.”

He thinks so because, as someone did at home, “the entire theater got into trouble.”

Last fall, the Katona József Theater issued a statement stating that “in several cases, a member of its contracted staff behaved in a way that crossed moral boundaries with the theater employees,” and then anonymously. Soon after, Péter Gothár announced that he was the protagonist of the story. As a professor at the University of Theater and Film Arts (SZFE), Gothár also called for an ethical investigation against him at the university.

The government then essentially based its political campaign against SZFE on this case. “What message does this government campaign send to the victims? Well, for example, if you report harassment, you risk the fate of everyone around you and, with the help of your confession, they can ruin everything you worked for, ”wrote Péter Urfi in 444.

Join the Circle until October 20 to send him a tribute copy in late October.
