The league, which organizes the Czech professional football leagues, has issued a statement confirmed: In the situation caused by the coronavirus epidemic, both vanguard and second-hand struggles have been suspended.

Due to the second wave of the coronavirus epidemic, the Czech government declared a state of emergency in the country, which also banned sporting events. The Czech First and Second Division League therefore decided the suspension in an extraordinary match.

Dusan Svoboda, president of the league, said that the situation was necessary and that to maintain a predetermined schedule of rounds, the tournaments were suspended. The sports manager also added that winter break is likely to be shortened because of this.

The league also announced that negotiations would begin with the Prime Minister, Andrej Babis, as well as with the Minister of Health, Roman Prymula, in order to establish the conditions that would allow professional clubs to carry out a full training job.

The Czech Republic already has more than a thousand deaths from the coronavirus, with more than 4,000 new infections registered on Tuesday alone.

Hungarian soccer tournaments continue to run without restrictions.
