Müller Cecília Monday’s press conference of operating personnel began with the dry facts. The national medical director said that those infected produce highly variable symptoms, yet more and more people are hospitalized and on a ventilator, not just with mild symptoms.

Cecília Müller spoke at length that the virus is more dangerous for chronic patients. He stressed that obesity is an independent risk factor. He asked people to take care of their bodies, to go to the doctor, not to neglect their diseases.

What Cecília Müller said about the tests was that “they were being done all the time”, noting somewhat critically that the tests were slower due to the spread of the epidemic.

“There is an epidemic in the upstream,” said the medical director. Cecília Müller commented that there is at least as much in front of us as behind us.

The National Medical Director also spoke about the rescue service that is preparing a digital data sheet for GPs, which is expected to facilitate the request for tests and speed up the testing process.

The answer to a journalist’s question revealed that the coronavirus appeared in the second wave in 45 nursing homes or social institutions.

In 1,140 cases, the police took action for mask wearing violations. In 69 cases, fines were imposed on-site and in 96 cases infringement reports were filed.

Responding to a question from Cecília Müller, she also said that the number of people admitted to the hospital is increasing because there are more and more elderly patients.
