The government can replace another intelligence chief in no time

A change of leadership is expected in the Information Office (IH) responsible for civil intelligence, writes hvg.hu on the basis of the committee’s agendas posted on the parliament’s website on Friday. At the closed-door meeting of the National Security Committee of the National Assembly next Tuesday morning, the first item on the agenda will be the hearing of Zsolt Bunford, General Brigadier General, candidate for Director General.

Based on the Master’s website, Zsolt Bunford currently holds the position of Deputy Managing Director for Analysis, while the Managing Director is József Czukor since October 2018. According to the newspaper, Czukor has previously worked for the Master, from 1993 to 1997 was the head of the department and from 2002 to 2004 he was also the CEO.

In a short time, this may be the second change of leadership at the head of the secret services: Zoltán Kiss, the head of the Constitutional Protection Office that deals with counterespionage and due diligence of state officials, was unexpectedly replaced in mid-mid-2000.
