Despite the epidemic, the foot race is held. Traffic users should expect traffic restrictions on both Saturday and Sunday.

The weekend of the Budapest Marathon, which will not be attended by foreigners this year, will be much smaller than usual, some 10,000 participants, and according to the organizers’ decision, the school race will also be delayed.

Due to the running race, there will be traffic restrictions in various busy sections of Budapest on Saturdays and Sundays. Closures are affected

  • the lower quay of Buda,
  • the pier of the Technical University,
  • the Pázmány Péter promenade,
  • St. Gellert’s quay,
  • the tunnel,
  • the quay of Bem,
  • the path of Attila,
  • the Chain Bridge and
  • the castle garden quay.

The Budapest Transport Center asks you to choose fixed line public transport, especially metro lines, to get closer to your destination.

On closed road sections, most restrictions are gradually removed as corridors pass.

Restrictions on competition also affect public transport. Trams 19, 41, 47, 49, 16, 16A, 5, 9, 26, 226, 105, buses 109, 137, 154, 218, and 237 and trolleybus 83 operate in a modified order over the weekend.
