Albert-László Barabási, director of Northeastern University’s complex network research center in Boston, has long been involved not only in network research, but also with his colleagues, for example in modeling how it spreads. A virus. He last published a dramatic estimate in late September, in which he wrote that:

two weeks in which 100 new infections were registered, which already seemed like the large number. The 500 yesterday scare me. This means that there are approximately 100,000 active infections among us, one in 100 Hungarians.

Since then, the number of daily infections has been increasing steadily. It also doubled compared to Albert-László Barabási’s post on September 28.

The professor, who opened his own networking exhibition today at the Ludwig Museum in Budapest, was intervened by hvg.hu. Albert-László Barabási thinks:

It’s pretty obvious that life won’t get back to normal until next summer. Then we dedicate another year to this process, because if there is finally a vaccine, the focus will be on the vaccine war.

Said the researcher.

2021 and the following year will focus on how much vaccine they can produce, who will get it, who will be willing to administer it.

Albert-László Barabási is a member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, in 2019 he also received the János Bolyai Creative Award.
