In the Reykjavík match, Gylfi Sigurdsson scored both goals for the islanders in the first half, the guests only able to embellish them with a penalty after the substitution. Previously, the qualifiers for the European Championship were back and forth matches: the Hungarian team came to the tournament four years ago by defeating the Norwegians, but with the introduction of the League of Nations, their system changed, so this time two matches of a match must be won to fight for participation. According to the final result of the new series, the four best national teams from each division entered the field of 16 teams that did not reach the qualifiers.

As there is only one leading Class A escort, Iceland has lagged behind the European Championship and has therefore been replenished with three C division escorts, including the Hungarian. The semifinals and finals of the knockout rounds would have also been held in March, but had to be postponed due to the coronavirus epidemic, so the semifinals will finally be replenished on Thursday and the final will take place on November 12.

The European Championships will be held from June 11 to July 11, 2021 in Amsterdam, Baku, Bilbao, Bucharest, Budapest, Copenhagen, Dublin, Glasgow, London, Munich, Rome and Saint Petersburg. There will be three group stage matches and a final eighth in the Hungarian capital.
