Orgovány and Vidéke.

The case was reported by the Index in an investigation series at the time, the articles of which can be read here, here and here.

No one was arrested a few days ago.

As a lobbyist for the Moscow government, Szilárd Kiss was also close to Sándor Fazekas and Szijjártó.

According to the indictment, after the HUF 500 million loan taken in 2010 by the Szilárd Kiss-owned Monte Tokaj wine company failed to repay the Soltvadkert és Vidéke Takarékszövetkezet, already owed 600 million at the time of its collapse in 2012 , and the claim His field went to the Savings Cooperative along with the collateral, Kiss visited Gyula Sziky to get the Tokaj business at a lower price. As far as he knew, Sziky knew the head of the savings cooperative in Orgovány and could have handled the matter.

The defendants denied their guilt at all times, and the prosecutor’s office was only able to provide evidence from wiretapping, according to which Sziky had repeatedly negotiated with Imre Gellért on behalf of Szilárd Kiss. In the end, it was agreed that the credit from the savings cooperative would be bought by Gyula Sziky’s well-known company for 335 thousand euros, at the then exchange rate of about 140 million guilders. According to the indictment, Sziky promised the director of the financial institution an additional 40 million HUF in bribes if they could buy back the properties below the purchase price.

However, the General Court of Kecskemét did not abandon the first instance judgment on that measure, and in 2019. Annul the judgment of June 27, also pointing out that In addition to Gyula Sziky, the wiretapping materials can also be used for others. The case is then a It was sent to the Szeged Court of Appeal, where, however, it was considered that no further proceedings were necessary after the full trial procedure of the lower court, so the case was returned to the lower court which issued the order. cancellation.

After that, in Kecskemét, the three-member council of judges could do nothing but render a verdict acquitting the accused. According to the reasoning, while the wiretapping materials could be used, they did not clearly and unequivocally establish the guilt of the accused. Therefore, the charge was dropped for lack of evidence. As the defendants spent several months in pre-trial detention in connection with the case, they now have the opportunity to sue the Hungarian state for damages.

This is not the first case that Kiss Solid swam in the absence of evidence. A IV. and XV.
