The new coronavirus infection (COVID-19) was detected in 816 new Hungarian citizens, increasing the total number of infected people in Hungary to 33,114.

As above, the figure below shows that the sharp increase in the number of new infections per day has stopped, while the number of tests performed has been on a downward trend for weeks, so it is not surprising that the daily number of positive cases does not increase much.

In a single day, 9,726 tests have been performed, so the 7-day moving average continues to decrease steadily and it is no coincidence that the positivity rate has remained well above the 5% set by the WHO as a ceiling. This means that the epidemic is not under control in Hungary and we do not know the true size and extent of the epidemic. With more testing done, the epidemic is likely to find many more positive cases, so you could better identify the true extent of the epidemic and better control it.

The saddest thing about the official announcement is that another 24 patients died in one day, seventeen of them were over seventy years old. Thus, the number of deaths rose to 877 and 9,149 had already been recovered. Unfortunately, the number of 24 people sets a new record after 20 people yesterday, and here the 7-day moving average is increasing dramatically, so the Florida phenomenon that experts warned about weeks ago actually happened, since it really the increase in infections continued 4-5 weeks ago. of deaths.

Along with today’s data, the number of active infections jumped to 23,088. 35% of the actively infected, 49% of the dead and 33% of those recovered are from Budapest. 656 coronavirus patients are hospitalized, 41 of whom are connected to ventilators. The numbers have now risen a bit here too, after a rapid decline in the previous days. Based on our analysis yesterday, the main reason for the suspicious decline in the numbers may have been that there may be more coronavirus in the hospital than official data shows., but the epidemiologist is likely to find patients too slowly, which is why more and more people are in institutions without coronavirus testing:

It’s also worth taking a look at those in official home quarantine, which has been on a downward trend in recent weeks:

By looking at county data, it can now be said that a new coronavirus infection has been found in every county since yesterday. The majority (148 people) were in Budapest, Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén county (131 people) and Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg county (84 people), that is, Pest county ranked fourth (70 people ).
