The guitarist for the legendary Van Halen band, Eddie Van Halen, has died at the age of 66, writes TMZ.

According to the portal, the musician died at St. John’s Hospital in Santa Monica. At the hospital with him were his wife, Janie, their son, Wolfgang, and his brother, Van Halen’s drummer, Alex.

The guitarist has been diagnosed with throat cancer for ten years and has also been treated in the United States and Germany.

His doctors said his condition had deteriorated rapidly in the past three days, and his body finally gave up the fight on Tuesday.
