The Hungarian Medical Chamber (MOK) has examined the government bill on increasing the salaries of doctors in the health service, part of which it considers unacceptable. In their published communication, they list item by item which parties they consider objectionable to the new proposal.

They all go to jail for gratitude money; the second job is also prohibited for doctors with high salaries

Not only is regulation of gratitude money tightening, but doctors are also unable to practice private practice in second jobs.

In relation to the proposal for a salary increase in three stages, for example, they object to the scope of the law, which, according to the current wording, does not cover, among others, those who work as entrepreneurs, as well as those who work for the foundation and private service providers.

The Chamber considers that the restriction of the second charge is necessary in itself and, therefore, acceptable, but it is proposed that its criteria be established in a government decree to avoid the individual consideration of the judge by the judge.

In the House’s view, one-step removal of personal involvement can result in serious failures.

They also regret that the project foresees the possibility of deviating down from the base salary they propose.

Regarding salary, it was noted as a problem that the salary scale does not address differences in qualifications.

The MOK emphasizes that due to the complexity of the legislation and the short time available, the review of the draft was not an easy task, so a complete review could not be carried out, so it is not considered possible to propose corrections later.
