The Republican President of the United States, Donald Trump, announced on Friday that he was infected with the coronavirus, and the public has long taken this as a starting point. Later there was more and more speculation about the president’s condition, and it could not be ruled out that Trump’s test was already positive on Wednesday due to statements from his doctors. Contradictory information about his condition has already been circulating, but today we are seeing it more and more clearly. CNN compiled the developments in the president’s illness, presenting the stories on a daily basis:

Thursday

  • According to a presidential staff member, the president will receive his first positive test after arriving from Bedminster, New Jersey.
  • Since the previous test was only a rapid test, Trump performed a PCR test that day, which turned out to be positive.

Friday

  • On Friday morning Hungarian time, Trump announces on Twitter that he is infected with the virus.
  • White House Physician Sean Conley Announces Trump Has Mild Symptoms; otherwise it is fine.
  • We learned from Conley’s subsequent announcement that Trump had a high fever on Friday, the oxygen saturation had dropped below 94% in his blood, so he was receiving oxygen. Normal oxygen saturation is above 95%.
  • The doctor announced that Trump is receiving treatment with antibodies, a drug that is currently in testing. He also received other medications and vitamins.
  • The president was airlifted to Walter Reed Hospital in the morning. He left the White House on his own power and made an announcement in a Twitter message in front of him. According to official communications, it was presented solely as an observation.
  • The 5-day course of remdesivir began at the President on Friday.

Saturday

  • The president also lowered his blood oxygen level on Saturday, with a saturation of 93%. Conley said the president’s condition was being monitored and oxygen levels later returned to normal.
  • The president received a steroid treatment, which is used in patients who are receiving oxygen or are placed on a ventilator.
  • On Saturday night, the president will appear in a Twitter video saying that he is already feeling fine. On the morning of the same day, Conley even said that the president was in excellent condition, then admitted that he considered the president’s condition to be too good.

Sunday

  • Trump hasn’t had a fever since Friday morning, Sean Dooley, one of the president’s doctors, said Sunday.
  • Another doctor says Trump is fine, his goal is to get out of bed as many times as possible, eat and drink. If your condition improves, your doctor says you can go home on Monday.
  • Trump was surrounded by a van around the hospital, greeting his supporters outside. One of Walter Reed’s doctors said it was irresponsible behavior and Trump also put those in the car with him in danger.
  • Trump spoke Sunday in a new video with a much more positive vibe, saying he could learn a lot from the coronavirus: “This is the real school,” he said.
