Can the Puskás Arena be the venue for Ferencváros BL group round matches?
First of all, I have to start by apologizing, I also contacted Gábor Kubatov on Friday. The Puskás Arena awaits Fradi with the doors open. Our suggestion for the best and most popular Hungarian team, Ferencváros, is to play BL matches against Juventus and Barcelona in the national arena. Thus, three times as many Hungarians can support Fradi on the ground compared to Groupama.
By default, half the country is Fradista, including the Quail family. Everything will be in these games, that’s for sure.
That way, most people can be in the stadium. There is no obstacle to this, UEFA has to agree to Fradi at his request. I am confident that this will happen with the support of the MLSZ, especially with the help of President Sándor Csányi, who is UEFA Vice President.
How much would it cost? Is it worth the club to play there?
Fradi is worth playing against Juve and Barça in Puskás, and the arena is not bad either. Not a penny of taxpayer money, not a penny of public money. Due to Covid-19, the lodge sales, well started, collapsed at the Puskás Arena. This is very useful now. We can provide Fradi with enough hostels so that every tenant who has been paying hostel price on Groupama for years can get a hostel in Puskás at no extra charge. Of course, the tenants of Puskás will get their accommodation, and maybe fifteen can even sell fifteen to the Arena for both matches, there is demand, for sure … Ticket sales will be three times that of Groupama, these matches represent great cost of organization.
