The Poles are steadily advancing towards “nuclear disaster”.

As early as October, they could sign an agreement that would create an opportunity for Polish-American cooperation in the field of nuclear energy. This is interesting in light of the fact that the Poles are starting from scratch, they don’t have a nuclear power plant, and nuclear power is in a state of clinical death in America.

Poland and the United States will soon be able to sign a preliminary contract for the construction of a nuclear power plant in Poland, wrote onet.pl Wójciech Jakóbik, BiznesAlert.pl. citing an article by his editor-in-chief. During Donald Trump’s visit to Warsaw, his Polish colleague Andrzej Duda said that “in the foreseeable future” an international treaty would be signed that could create the conditions for the use of nuclear energy in Poland.

According to BiznesAlert, a preliminary contract in this regard could be signed from October. On this basis, the Polish side can learn about the proposals of American companies and the American financial model that would allow the introduction of nuclear energy in Poland. The cost of the investment is estimated at around PLN 140 billion (HUF 11.2 billion). Warsaw remains officially open to talks with the French and Koreans on nuclear cooperation.

Opponents of nuclear power in Poland say the deal with the Americans would prefer to revive the US nuclear sector, which has not produced new plans for many years. It is believed that Poland could become too vulnerable to a supplier, i.e. the US, after buying gas (LNG) from it as well. According to the nuclear lobby, the United States would provide the material conditions for costly investments and the US presence in energy will reduce Russia’s energy dependence in Eastern Europe.
