Among European countries, Montenegro has the highest number of infected people per 100,000 inhabitants: 1,699, according to reports from the country’s epidemiological institute.

Authorities noted that even though Montenegro was able to call itself a coronavirus-free zone for 42 days in early summer, it was among the worst-off countries in the fall. Due to poor indicators, the government closed restaurants in the worst hit cities and introduced a night curfew, as well as the prospect of if the situation continues to improve, it will extend the restrictions to the entire country.
