Gergely Gulyás Addresses the minister who holds the position of prime minister István Ujhelyi, Member of the European Parliament of the Hungarian Socialist People’s Party (MSZP) regarding the reason why the European Commission (EC) did not accept the request of the Hungarian government for EU support to reduce unemployment due to the coronavirus epidemic ( SURE).

Ujhelyi recalled that according to the MTI report: the objective of the program is to provide billions of euros of the joint debt of the European Union, with which they can immediately defend themselves against the collapse of the labor market. The program was launched on August 24: 15 countries received around 81.4 billion euros and Portugal’s application was accepted in September. He added: Poland, for example, received € 11.4 billion, about HUF 4 billion, and the Czech Republic received € 2 billion, or HUF 700 billion.

17 countries applied for the program, 16 successfully, that is, “the Orbán government once again paralyzed something” because Hungary was the only one that could not submit a proper application, he said.

A good month ago we wrote that at that time the EU had assessed the applications of 15 more Member States, all of which received money. Since then, therefore, the Portuguese application has received support. Still no news on the Hungarian app.

Therefore, the Socialist representative would like to know from Gergely Gulyás, when asked in writing, why the Hungarian application was not accepted, why, how much did they ask, what sectors, exactly how many companies they wanted to help and how many jobs they wanted to protect. quantity?
