Despite being promised a higher salary, SZFE workers continue to strike

He published his first announcement by the new direction of the University of Theater and Film Arts, and it was immediately presented to the public with a very strong slip.

Which, in short, looks like workers’ wages are increasing if they don’t go on strikes.

“On September 29, 2020, the SZFE strike committee made two demands on the employer for the employer to guarantee a 10% wage increase and to guarantee the maintenance of the work schedule that governs state retention. The direction of the SZFE, which took office today – with the support of the University maintainer – considers justified an average wage increase of 15% higher than the demands of the strike committee as of January 1, 2021. But if the strike committee decides to continue the strike, the offer is void.

Anyone reading these lines cannot imagine why the SZFE instructors would not continue to work. They fulfill all their requests, they increase their salaries, what more can they ask for? Also, if they continue to give back, they won’t be paid at all, not even for last month’s work, under the Chancellor’s prior threat.

However, the strike committee will not accept the offer, perhaps because the basic statement in the communication is already false.

Not only do they have these two demands: the member of the strike committee, teacher Kata Csató, told 444 that they had originally made 6 demands, this one was expanded by two more on September 29. (They are listed at the end of the article). Given this, it is not surprising that the strike does not stop: “We will continue negotiations,” added Chato.

The 444 know that of the 45 teachers named, 34 went on strike today, along with other workers and teachers, bringing the total to 77. Strike committee complaints:

1. The maintainer must restore the powers of the SZFE Senate on August 1, 2020, in particular with regard to the establishment of the employer’s work organization and the provisions of article 20 (1) of the Labor Code. and guarantees the inviolability of its powers indefinitely.
2. The maintainer ensures that the topics in education and artistic creation, as well as the methods used in education and artistic creation, can be determined by the Senate of the SZFE (or the given professional unit of the SZFE or the instructor).
3. The maintainer guarantees that the internal organization and functioning of the SZFE Senate can be formed by itself (for example, the creation – transformation, termination – of educational or creative units – and the creation of SZMSZ).
4. The maintainer guarantees that the heads of departments and departments can be elected by the SZFE Senate itself, and before the appointment of the rector, the call for proposals can be determined, and the applications received can be known and nominated, all in one transparent and democratic procedure.
5. The maintainer guarantees that it will provide SZFE with at least the same amount of funding for budget year 2021 that was available in budget year 2020.
6. The maintainer ensures that the SZFE Senate can independently compile and submit to the maintainer the SZFE annual budget plan.
7. Since the employment status of SZFE employees changed on September 1, 2020 (employees’ civil servant status ceased), the employer should provide a 10% salary increase for employees from the date of change of situation.
8. Since the SZFE has changed from a higher education institution maintained by the state to an institution not maintained by the state, the new maintainer guarantees in the organizational and operational regulations that the work schedule in effect at the time of state maintenance will be maintained for the employees.
