Home disinfection is easier than you think

We can also fight viruses, bacilli and diseases in general with the help of electronic devices and household appliances.

This sector also offers solutions that can benefit everyone and protect our health. There are quite a few devices that can disinfect various devices, everyday objects and have been equipped with such a function. That we are not talking to the air, we also show some concrete examples.

Dishwasher

Some dishwashers today also have a sanitizing function. That is, wash inserted cutlery, plates, plates and glasses at a temperature at which bacteria and viruses do not survive. In addition, there are already one or two machines that have been equipped with a special disinfection function, so no cleaning is done. For example, ultraviolet light sources are incorporated that can kill or neutralize pathogens.

In addition to traditional self-contained built-in appliances, this feature is sometimes found in ultra-compact portable dishwashers. So you may want to look up this feature for anyone who wants to establish a line of defense in their home this way as well.

Dryer

Dryers are still considered an unnecessary luxury by many today, although the truth is that these types of machines can be very useful. Especially in winter and autumn, when the drying in the apartment is not so smooth, that is, when it is not possible to open a window many times or dry clothes in the garden due to cold, rain or wet weather. In this case, the humidity inside can increase the moisture content of the air, which can also be a breeding ground for disease. On the other hand, a dryer takes up relatively little space and dries both clothes and bedding in a short time.

Dryers still have one big advantage, and that’s the sanitizing feature that appears on many machines.

In this case, the clothes are “steamed” with the help of hot air and the heat treatment destroys the pathogens. By the way, combination washer-dryers are already available, taking up about as much space as a conventional washing machine. We can also recommend allergy sufferers, families with young children, or people with respiratory diseases to at least consider purchasing some type of machine suitable for drying and disinfection.

Air purifying machines

More and more companies have recently turned to appliances specifically designed for air purification. These are generally compact, relatively easy-to-move machines that can even be moved from room to room, don’t consume much electricity, and aren’t terrifying. Of these devices, it is worth choosing one that has been tested by independent organizations and shown to be capable of filtering microscopic micron-sized particles out of the air.

Products already exist that have their own sensors to measure air quality and are capable of indicating when they should be used. For us, models that can be integrated into a larger smart home or office system via built-in WiFi are our favorites. This allows them to remotely monitor air quality and also provides a way to activate air purification. This can be especially useful if you have small children or elderly people on the property who would not be able to activate this feature on their own.

Portable sterilizer

These devices are used to disinfect small items such as keys, wallets, or phones. They are sterilized by ultraviolet radiation and are easy to transport due to their small size and light weight. Definitely the best ones that don’t need to be plugged into the mains, so they also play music with a battery or rechargeable battery.

These can be very useful ticks, but it is important to note that they can also destroy the human body, as their light does not come into contact with the skin and eyes. They generally have poor tolerance to water and humidity, making them of limited use for outdoor use.

Self disinfection screen

As a result of the coronavirus epidemic, which is almost omnipresent in the world in a short time, more and more people are beginning to address the issue of touch screen disinfection. These devices surround us via smartphones, credit card terminals, vending machines, or even medical devices and, sadly, are potentially dangerous surfaces.

There are companies that have already independently developed procedures that provide automatic protection. One of the most promising is the development of a company called Review Display Systems. They have developed a nano-silver film layer that can be used to instantly remove bacteria and other harmful substances from the screen.

Self-disinfecting headphones

We don’t really lend hearing aids to anyone else, but we grab them with our hands and then plug them into our ears and back. and this, for example, is accompanied by increased sweating during the summer or during training, thanks to which an ear can really be a hotbed of bacteria. LG is trying to curb this with the HBS-FN6 Bluetooth Headphone, which comes with the LG UVnano charging case, offering secure storage, hassle-free charging, and increased hygiene. Using the case’s built-in ultraviolet light emitters, LG’s slim charging case kills 99.9 percent of coli and staphylococcal bacteria on the hypoallergenic silicone plug and its internal surfaces.

The compact, wirelessly rechargeable case can provide up to an hour of music listening time with just five minutes of charging time. When fully charged, both models can be used for up to six hours, and the UVnano case provides an additional 12 hours of operation, allowing the headphones to last up to 18 hours in total.
