Index – National – Eight patients have died: the epidemic is not weakening in Hungary

The new coronavirus infection (COVID-19) was detected in 894 new Hungarian citizens, increasing the number of infected people in Hungary to 26,461. Eight patients died, bringing the death toll to 765, and 5,890 have already recovered. The number of actively infected people is 19,806. 37% of the actively infected, 53% of the dead and 38% of those recovered are from Budapest. 773 coronavirus patients are being hospitalized, 54 of whom are on ventilators.

As data on new infections warn, the second wave of the epidemic is occurring in Hungary. The government’s goal is to keep the country running and not let the virus paralyze everyday life, so the easy-to-follow rules of thumb are even more important now – they write at koronavirus.gov.hu.

In addition to shops and public transport, the use of the mask is mandatory in cinemas, theaters, shopping centers, health and social institutions and customer reception offices. Also, after 11pm, restaurants and entertainment venues must be closed.

To stop the spread of the community continues

  • Avoid places where there are many inside
  • preferably keep your distance
  • wash your hands frequently and thoroughly
  • those who have been ordered an official home quarantine for a stay abroad or for any other reason, must strictly comply with
  • Anyone with symptoms should not go into the community but stay home and notify their GP by phone.

The protection of elderly and chronic patients is of the utmost importance. The elderly are also asked to pay more attention to themselves and general precautions. Visiting hospitals and nursing homes is prohibited. And nursing home owners should do everything they can to prevent infection.

In September, the school year began with traditional working hours, but with strict security measures, in almost 6,000 public educational institutions in more than 13,000 workplaces. Operations staff currently ordered emergency breaks at 30 kindergartens and 6 schools, and digital work schedules for 130 classes and 4 entire schools due to coronavirus illnesses.
