In Romania, the coronavirus was detected in more than 1,349 people in the last day, after almost one in five of the coronavirus tests evaluated were positive, according to a report from the Strategic Communication Tribe (GCS) this Monday . A positive percentage of 21 percent is a record.

On Mondays, there are always far fewer, in this case less than 6,200, Sunday test assessments in the GCS report. For two months, the number of cases per day on Monday did not exceed a thousand.

The proportion of positive tests, not only on weekends, but also in the evaluation of 22-24 thousand tests carried out every day, has regularly exceeded 5 percent for more than two months. Last week, with one exception, it also topped 6 percent.

The number of patients needing hospital treatment is also on the rise, reaching more than 7,500 on Monday, and the number of severe cases has set another record: 557 coronavirus patients are currently being cared for in the intensive care unit.
