Bajnai led the country as prime minister for a year after the fall of the Gyurcsány government, until the 2010 elections. He has taken a series of austerity measures, but experts say it can be said in retrospect that he has implemented a successful crisis. The former head of government returned in 2013 in the colors of the now-defunct Together, with which he allied with the MSZP, but Attila Mesterházy they failed with his candidacy for prime minister, and after another victory for Fidesz, Bajnai retired from politics.
