This year the FIA has announced a fight against abandonment, with much more rigorous monitoring of driver errors, and a safety car before each race weekend to show where they are paying special attention.
In Sochi, one of those turns is the almost 90-degree turn to the right following the long start and finish line, from where they turn to the 180-degree left turn.
In the rollover zone of Turn 2, the FIA, as in previous years, strictly designated the escape route, and for their regular return, the drivers must pass through the unloaded buoys.
However, during the time trial, this was forgotten by several drivers, along with Kevin Magnussen, Romain Grosjean and Nicholas Latifi, who took pole position. Lewis hamilton also for which the 4 pilots were summoned to the judges.

In the worst case, Hamilton could be penalized retrospectively, but is more likely to receive a warning / fine, as well as penalty points.
However, Hamilton was not bothered much by the fact of the investigation: “I have no idea what this is all about,” confessed Hamilton. “There will always be something you can catch, right?”
By the way, the British world champion has to pay close attention to this, since with 8 points he is currently the closest to “getting” 12 points, which the FIA awards with a single penalty.
