The water supplier had to impose water consumption restrictions twice in July in Kiliti, in the southern part of Siófok, due to bacterial contamination of drinking water, which affected five to six thousand residents. The inspections revealed that its own wells were illegally connected to the drinking water network in various places of use, the DRV wrote in its statement.
Almost 350 people participated directly and indirectly in the response to the accidents, and the works required an expenditure of 60.6 million HUF by the service provider, which is further increased by the cost of thousands of cubic meters of water required. to refill car washes and provide potable water to affected residents.

DRV notes that in the wake of the incident, it has begun investigating illegal connections between owner-managed wells and the drinking water system, and its specialists are constantly installing so-called non-return fittings to prevent contamination of drinking water in more than 2,500 connections in the district. The service provider allocated an additional 15 million HUF to the latter from its own resources.
