According to the International Air Transport Association, if cheap and fast virus tests are really available in the coming weeks, they should be applied as soon as possible so that aviation can resume. The board also contacted the Hungarian government regarding quarantine rules, Airport writes.

Several research companies are in the final stages of investigation, so rapid and inexpensive virus tests may be available in October, said Alexandre de Juniac, president and CEO of an organization of 200 airlines.

Based on their information, they show antibodies, the products are expected to be below $ 10 a piece, but governments must decide who should bear this cost.

Once the new rapid tests are available, IATA is pushing for them to be used on a mandatory basis at the departure airport instead of quarantine, and the results of these tests would have to be accepted in the next countries to trigger the quarantine, that is being discussed with governments, said the director.

In a separate letter, IATA called on the Hungarian government to lift the quarantine and support the joint EU action proposed by the European Commission.
