Many times there were night frosts that did neither the peaches nor the apples any good.

The catastrophic spring weather has made fruit more expensive than last year, the chairman of the department of horticulture and suppliers of the National Chamber of Agriculture (NAK) said on Saturday at the M1.

Béla Mártonffy added: since the end of March, the three-day night frosts worsened the production of apricots, peaches, cherries, pears and apples every 8-10 days. He also noted that the price of vegetables has increased only a small percentage compared to last year.

Some products, such as tomatoes, also have lower prices, said Béla Mártonffy.
