Ágnes Kunhalmi and Bertalan Tóth were elected co-chairs of the MSZP on Saturday by the party’s online congress. For the first time in the history of the Socialist Party, it elected co-chairs as leaders.

Tamás Mészáros, chairman of the congressional scrutiny committee, said in a video posted on the MSZP’s Facebook page that 225 of the 261 delegates supported the election of the co-chairs. The result is not surprising, since it had previously happened that Attila Mesterházy would also run for the position of party president, but in the end he did not.

Imre Komjąhi became party vice president, and Zita Gurmai and Gyula Hegyi were elected party vice presidents.

The president of the commission was István Hiller, who had previously held the position. (via MTI)
