Six elderly people with chronic illnesses and another 941 Hungarian citizens were diagnosed with the coronavirus infection, koronavirus.gov.hu reported on Friday. Yesterday the same number of new infections was just 710.
The government website wrote: the number of infected people identified in Hungary increased to 16,000 111. The death toll rose to 669 and 4,240 have already been recovered.
The number of actively infected people is 11,202. 42 percent of those actively infected, 58 percent of the dead and 41 percent of those recovered are from Budapest.
The hospital cares for 374 coronavirus patients, 29 of whom are on ventilators. There are 27,866 people in official home quarantine, the number of samples is 591,618.
It was highlighted, as the data of new infections warn, the second wave of the epidemic is in Hungary, the virus is already spreading in the community. The government’s goal is to keep the country running and not allow the virus to paralyze everyday life, so the general rules that are already in place and easy to follow are now even more important.
At its meeting on Wednesday, the government decided to maintain entry restrictions and further tighten. According to them, in addition to shops and public transport, the wearing of masks is also mandatory in cinemas, theaters, health, social institutions and reception offices, and nightclubs must close after 23, they said.
