Syria outlawed the United States on Wednesday after US President Donald Trump revealed that he wanted to kill Syrian President Bassar el-Assad in 2017, the MTI writes.
According to Forbes, the statement was made in a long public outburst by the president of the United States against a former defense minister, James Mattis.

Bob Woodward, a journalist for the Washington Post, has already described in his 2018 book Fear that Trump was trying to pressure Mattis, arguing that the United States should “kick Assad out” after a chemical attack on Syrian civilians.
Trump had firmly denied in the past that it had even been considered an assassination attempt on the president. In connection with Woodward’s book, he stated at the time that
