The exit is not restricted yet, but almost everything else is. We are interested in the opinion of our readers about the government actions now announced by Viktor Orbán.

Coronavirus: the second wave

Half a year after the spring outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, the second wave of the pandemic has arrived. The radical increase in the number of infected is forcing more and more countries to re-impose restrictions, despite the fact that the world economy has not even recovered from the effects of the spring outbreak. According to the posters, the second wave also reached Hungary. Follow our news!

The package of measures announced by the Prime Minister on Wednesday afternoon generated a lively and exceptionally not only political debate on Viktor Orbán’s Facebook page. The steps are designed to address the second wave of the coronavirus epidemic, but commentators say it is not necessarily the most effective means.

Some have complained about making “tests bought with taxpayer money” payable, others have been waiting for students outside in the cold of autumn to measure their body temperature before entering school. Several topped the nightclub’s 23-hour closing time, saying the virus only strikes after that, but there were those who were concerned about the loss of revenue caused by the early closure. And one truck driver said that this “scandal is only in Hungary”.

But what do visitors think of hvg.hu? At the end of the summer, even before the introduction of travel restrictions, we asked our readers how they would handle the next second wave. This time, we wonder how satisfactory the steps the government has now taken in the right direction are.

The number of independent power editorial boards is steadily declining, and those that still exist are trying to stay afloat in a growing headwind. At HVG we persevere, we don’t give in to pressure and we bring national and international news every day.

That is why we ask you, our readers, to stand by us, support us, join our membership and renew it!
