We asked the Comedy Theater if that decision had actually been made and what the results of the supervisory board that investigated Eszenyi’s abuses of power had been.
In its response, the Comedy Theater stated that, unfortunately, false rumors had been published about the rehearsals that they considered an internal matter, as the current director had decided on Eszenyi’s absence in consultation and agreement with him.
“Péter Rudolf listened to the views of the newly formed Comedy Theater Arts Council, the Szidosz Comedy Theater Foundation and its senior staff. After consulting and agreeing with Enikő Eszenyi, he decided to serve the interests of the Comedy Theater in the delicate situation developed by renewing his productions without his personal presence. Enikő Eszenyi received and will receive the video recordings made during the renovation tests, from which he will send his comments, ”they write.
The theater wrote about the investigation of the charges against Eszenyi, they were notified of its closure, but the details are unknown, and we would not have the right to provide information about it, since this is the responsibility of the Metropolitan Municipality that orders the investigation.
