Several people were infected with the coronavirus at the Home Amado de Fairy Garden in Nyíregyháza, and on Wednesday the epidemiological deployment unit ordered the site to begin disinfecting the institution.

According to MTI, 21 infected people were found in a private house on Tünde street. The military vehicles arrived at the building on Wednesday afternoon, from where the soldiers unloaded disinfectants and equipment.

Levente Urbán, captain of the 93rd Sándor Petőfi Chemical Defense Battalion of the Hungarian Armed Forces, told reporters at the scene: A biological rescue team arrived to disinfect the nursing home.

The Army has been carrying out disinfection in nursing homes and hospitals continuously since April 12, and the unit assigned here has been carrying out the same task, he said. According to the captain, the process is carried out with full protective clothing by the herd in two stages, first based on a hot mist of hydrogen peroxide and sodium hypochlorite and then sprayed with another type of disinfectant in rooms of living room, water blocks, medical rooms and other public spaces.

MTI tried to reach the owner of Fairy Garden Beloved Home, but no one at the institution answered the phone.

The woman waiting on the street, a relative of one of the elderly nurses, said that they heard a week ago that one of the workers had tested positive, and after the result, the day before yesterday they were all examined and disinfected at home. Twenty-four people are said to have tested positive for the coronavirus, she added.

According to the Beloved Home website, the residential institution has operated in Nyíregyháza since 2009, and the building was designed to serve fifty people. The institution offers its residents a medical room, leisure and community rooms, a permanent medical service, a regular general medical service and, if necessary, a wide presence of specialists, read on the website.
