Several teachers infected with the coronavirus were also found at the Margit Kaffka Elementary and Primary Art School in Miskolc. They were duly notified to the competent authorities, but claimed that no action or information had been taken. The school has posted a desperate call on its website for this.

Coronavirus: the second wave

Half a year after the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic in the spring, the second wave of the pandemic has arrived. The radical increase in the number of infected is forcing more and more countries to re-impose restrictions, despite the fact that the world economy has not even recovered from the effects of the spring outbreak. According to the posters, the second wave also reached Hungary. Follow our news!

A school in Miskolc is asking for help in a desperate letter, after two teachers also tested positive for the coronavirus, and despite the case being reported to the competent authorities, nothing happened. 444.hu. According to a letter posted on the Margit Kaffka Elementary and Elementary Arts School website, the two teachers tested positive last Friday, and although Emmi reported cases and contacted designated offices, the Tank District Center de Miskolc and the Public Health Department of the Miskolc Government Office, but no inquiries or information were received.

At the school on Monday, two more teachers were confirmed to be infected, but despite being reported, they have yet to receive notification or response to their questions from the relevant agencies, which said:

  • Will students from the affected departments be quarantined and when will there be epidemiological surveillance?
  • If the father cannot trust his son, can we accept it?
  • Does the mask protect us all? Make it mandatory to use them? How long will we use them for the rest of our lives?
  • Do we rely on the protective power of “flock immunity” or divine providence until responsible decisions come?

They also wrote in Monday’s call that as soon as they receive information or a request, they will post it on their website immediately. There, at noon on Tuesday, there was still only one letter asking for help, meaning the situation had probably not changed by then. Hvg.hu contacted the school that was asked to email our questions. Once we receive the reply, we will update the article.

We have already written on hvg.hu about how inconsistent positive case management seems in public educational institutions. There are places where entire classes are sent home in case an educator or one or two students become infected, while in other places the appearance of several infected has not prompted similar measures. In addition to the examples described in the article, on Tuesday one of our readers described a similar situation at another high school in the capital, where at least three students were found to be infected, but the school only wrote to parents to be wash their hands more often.

The director of the Lauder Javne Community School in Budapest, where the infection also appeared, previously told hvg.hu that the epidemic in Budapest is not up to the task. “None of the positive cases that we filtered in the capital received the red card, although none voluntarily left their department,” he said. They did not experience such a problem in their rural students.

In case of inconsistencies like the above, we contact the Education Office on Monday, if we get the answer, we will update the article.

Inconsistencies in schools, sliding tests: it is difficult to cope with the epidemic of bureaucracy

At home

It seems quite illogical in which public educational institution to order distance education or send classes home due to coronavirus infection. The decapitation appears even greater than in state virus tests.
