The coronavirus infection was detected in 726 new Hungarian citizens, increasing the number of infected people identified in Hungary to 13,879, the government information portal reported the latest data.
Four chronically elderly people have died, leaving 646 dead and 4,130 already recovered. The number of active infected people is 9103 – read the information.
43% of the actively infected, 58% of the dead and 42% of those recovered are from Budapest. There are 306 hospitalized coronavirus patients, 17 of whom are on ventilators.
As the data of new infections warn, the second wave of the epidemic is occurring in Hungary, the virus is already spreading in the community. The government’s goal is to keep the country running and not let the virus paralyze everyday life, so the general rules that are already in place and easy to follow are now even more important, writes the government website.

In shops and on public transport, everyone must strictly follow the rules of mandatory use of the mask.
Protection of the elderly and chronically ill is of the utmost importance. The elderly are also asked to pay more attention to themselves and general precautions. Visiting hospitals and nursing homes is prohibited. And nursing home administrators must do everything possible to prevent infection.
