The new coronavirus infection (COVID-19) was detected in 726 new Hungarian citizens, increasing the number of infected people in Hungary to 13,879. Four chronically elderly patients have died, bringing the number of deaths to 646 and 4130 have already recovered; the most recent data can be read at koronavirus.gov.hu.
The number of actively infected people is 9,103. 43% of the actively infected, 58% of the dead and 42% of those recovered are from Budapest. There are 306 hospitalized coronavirus patients, 17 of whom are on ventilators.
As it is written, as the data of new infections warn, the second wave of the epidemic is occurring in Hungary, the virus is already spreading in the community.
The government’s goal is to keep the country running, as they write, we cannot allow the virus to paralyze everyday life, so the general rules that are already in place and easy to follow are now even more important. Everyone is asked to strictly follow the rules of mandatory use of masks in shops and on public transport.
To curb the spread of the community, they continue to ask for places where there are many indoors, preferably keep a social distance, wash your hands frequently and thoroughly. Anyone who has received the official home quarantine order for a stay abroad or for any other reason must strictly comply. Anyone with symptoms should not go into the community but stay home and notify their GP by phone.
Protection of the elderly and chronically ill is of the utmost importance. The elderly are also asked to pay more attention to themselves and general precautions. Visiting hospitals and nursing homes is prohibited. And nursing home administrators must do everything possible to prevent infection.
