Sarolta Selmeci, a German handball player at TG Nürtingen, died at the age of 28 as a result of cancer, writes MTI.

His club announced in late January that he had been diagnosed with cervical cancer in the coach. Monday’s grief report on the team’s website recalls that Selmeci underwent surgery and underwent chemotherapy and radiation therapy, but metastases have developed in his body. He recently returned to Hungary for more treatments. He died on Sunday.

Sarolta Selmeci previously played handball for Dunaferr NK, Veszprém, Kiskunhalas, Szeged, then Borussia Dortmund, HC Rödertal and SV Werder Bremen before being confirmed in Nürtingen last year.

“Our Charlynk, Sarolta Selmeci, lost the fight against cancer,” the club wrote in a Facebook post.
