The Sunday Congress for the Renewal of Dialogue in Budapest re-elected the party’s co-chairs and co-chairs, Tímea Szabó and Gergely Karácsony. At the same time, the party launched a campaign to introduce a basic income, the MTI reported.

In addition to the co-chairs, the Presidency of the Dialogue was elected at the event. The two co-chairs are automatically members of the board, which has been increased from seven to nine members, along with Andrienn Jakál, representative of the Sopron local government, Gábor Erőss VIII. District deputy mayor, deputy Bence Tordai, András Béres, III. The deputy mayor of the district, Zsolt Szabó, the deputy mayor of Dunaújváros, Márta V. Naszályi, the mayor of district 1 and the deputy mayor Dávid Dorosz were entrusted. The term of office of the officials is two years.

In a press conference held during the break, Gergely Karácsony said that the congress had chosen the team that would prepare the party for the 2022 parliamentary elections, writes the MTI.

Gergely Karácsony emphasized the importance of the opposition joint prime minister candidate and joint individual MPs. The Dialogue was the first to convene a full opposition coalition, and now all opposition parties have declared that they want to nominate a common candidate in all 106 individual districts, the politician added.

They continue to support the pre-election decision of the head of government and the joint individual candidates.

I would introduce a basic income

Gergely Karácsony, who advocates a basic income for all Hungarian citizens as a subject, said that the measure could be an important pillar of future Hungary. They want to convince not only voters, but also their own political partners about the introduction of a basic income.

According to Tímea Szabó, his task is not only to create the opposition unit, but also to offer a future, a vision that helps Hungary recover from the crisis.

The previous elections revealed that opposition parties do not have enough to say that they will replace the government, and if they cannot say more than that, they cannot even expect voters to vote for them with confidence, the politician believes. Therefore, they must create equality and prosperity while eliminating the insecurity that has developed over the last ten years.

More than eighty percent of Hungarian society, including Fidesz voters, support the introduction of a basic income. The measure provides at least 100,000 guilders a month for all adult Hungarian citizens and at least 50,000 guilders a month for children, Tímea Szabó said. Furthermore, the net minimum wage would be increased to 166,000 HUF per month.

The proposal would be financed by a budget transfer of HUF 3.3 billion.

To the question that he had raised before the municipal elections that he did not want to be co-president and mayor at the same time, because they are two very hard jobs, Gergely Karácsony replied: if the function of the presidency of the Fidesz party is compatible with that of prime minister. he may also serve as co-president and mayor at the same time.

Christmas is not currently preparing to run in the opposition prime minister’s pre-election, but he wants to work very hard to have such a pre-election.
