In Austria, rules on wearing a mask were tightened on Friday to curb the spread of the coronavirus, citing MTI news on 24 Hu. The Austrian government has announced that the wearing of masks will be compulsory in all shops and school buildings (except classrooms), as well as for waiters from Monday, and a limit of 50 people has been set for private events.

Events where guests do not have a designated seating area, such as private parties, can be held up to 50 people indoors and up to 100 people outdoors. The upper limit for the number of seats at public events is 1,500 indoors instead of the current 5,000 and 3,000 outdoors instead of 10,000, the cabinet said.

In Austria, the infection has spread again since the end of June, and by Thursday the number of new cases had already reached a record high at the end of March.

The situation is getting worse again, and the numbers have risen steadily in recent weeks. I ask you to be more careful again

Chancellor Sebastian Kurz told a press conference about the new setting.

Seven Austrian regions received a yellow or medium risk rating since Friday: Vienna, Graz, Innsbruck, Korneuburg, Vienna, Kufstein and Schwaz. In the schools here, physical education classes should preferably be held outdoors or in the gym in small groups, avoiding forms of exercise that require physical contact. You can also sing alone outdoors or indoors with a mask.

Kurz emphasized that his goal is to avoid the new bribery. The chancellor has proposed a further adjustment in case the numbers continue to rise.
