Tests at the Kamaraerdei út nursing home in the capital have so far shown coronavirus infection in fifteen people, the Budapest Capital Government Office said on Thursday to contact MTI.

The infection was first detected in a physiotherapist working in a nursing home who considered that thirty caregivers had to be cared for. After detection, 13 people were treated and one more employee became infected, they wrote. The government office said the chief district official had ordered the institution’s “C” building to be placed under epidemiological closure.

Sara botond A capital city government commissioner told the News Channel of the mainstream channel M1 Thursday night that patients are stable, some are asymptomatic and those with mild symptoms should be constantly monitored and, if necessary, hospitalized.

He added that hospitals were prepared in case the elderly needed care.

A week before Christmas, it was announced that the ongoing tests would begin in the asylums that are maintained in the capital, after the mayor consulted with those responsible for the institutions.

Mayor Gergely Karácsony previously issued a nine-point instruction to managers of nursing homes maintained in the capital, which included having a sufficient supply of protective equipment for two weeks, reviewing the number of places allowed, and recording in writing how to isolate to infected residents. According to the heads of the institutions, the nursing homes implemented this nine-point mayor’s instruction.
