How do we get here?

La Cartera first wrote in February about the final stretch of the M6 motorway, the 20 km stretch between Bóly and Ivánvárda. Then it turned out that the phase design was announced in the EU procurement procedure the estimated price increased from 1.5 to 1.3 billion guilders only by being able to achieve an expansion of competition in the tender by attenuating the eligibility requirements for the civil control program, the so-called Integrity Agreement (IM). The construction of the 20 km section itself can be carried out from the EU’s Integrated Transport Operational Program, the total indicative cost is about 160 million euros, that is, about 57 billion guilders at the current exchange rate.

In April, we also wrote that if this stretch is completed and the 17.5 km stretch between Osijek and Pélmonostor is built on the northern side of Croatia, all this together with more developments. in a few years it will bring a significant advantage to Hungarian motorists, which will go from Budapest to the southern stretch of the Croatian coast, to Dalmatia, on the M6. According to calculations They will save between 1 and 1.5 hours and about 150 km compared to the usual Letenye-Zagreb route.

Construction of the M60 may begin shortly

HelloVidék writes now, based on the information received from the experts at Nemzeti Infrastruktúra Fejlesztő Zrt. (NIF), that since the bidding phase related to the construction of the Bóly – Ivándárda (national border) section ended on June 30, the actual construction works will begin soon. According to the NIF, a

progress in land acquisition is currently 98 percent. The archaeological test excavations were carried out by Várkapitányság Nonprofit Zrt. Between August 2019 and October 2019, and the area that can be examined archaeologically covered practically the entire trail.

The NIF also revealed that “the experts examined a total of 15 archaeological sites and identified a new one. During the test excavation of these sites, they discovered a large number of archaeological phenomena with intensive spatial dispersion, valuable for heritage protection and in many unique cases: the late Neolithic “. a system of circular ditches (Lengyeli culture) and details of Árpádian and Iron Age (Celtic) settlement with medal date “.

The responses received by the page revealed that NIF Zrt. Currently, it does not have information on the date of provision of the necessary resources for construction.

Meanwhile, an important development is also that on the other side of the border, in Croatia, construction work has also started on the highway section. The newspaper knows that according to Croatian plans, the section of the A5 motorway between the Drava bridge in Osijek and Pélmonostor could be built in the summer of 2022. The implementation of the continuation to the Hungarian border can start next year, in 2021, And it can be completed by 2023, at best. However, it is no coincidence that the implementation of this stretch of highway is a high priority for the Croatian government: it is an important part of the so-called 5C transport corridor.

Briefly about the M60

The section from the M6-M60 crossing to the border with Croatia There will be a 2×2 lane expressway with physical separation. The length between Bóly and Ivándárda is almost 20 km, with a complex resting place in Nagynyárád, a 67-meter open bridge over the railway, a complex inspection site (two bridges, two axle weights and parking lots) in Ivándda and the construction of an engineering site. at the intersection of the main road and the side road 56113 (with office building, weighbridges, gas station and parking lots).

The investment will also create three separate nodes:

  • in the separation of M6 and M60;
  • In the eastern part of Bóly;
  • and in Villány.

It is also planned for the M60 towards Barcs

In addition to the above, it is important that the information on the page is meanwhile In the framework of the project “Preparation of the border section M60 Pécs-Barcs”, the planning of the M60 motorway will continue, which will lead from Pécs to the border between Hungary and Croatia touching Barcs. During the project, an environmental impact study and a feasibility study were completed for the approximately 64.4 km long stretch. The environmental permit was issued for the section between Pécs and Barcs.

“According to a new order from the Ministry of Innovation and Technology (ITM), it is necessary to prepare the permit plans for the section between Pécs and Szigetvár (west, with a connection to the junction of highway 6607 with main highway No. 6 The planning works for the preparation of the plans and the obtaining of the UNITEF-83 Zrt. Permits, which won the public procurement, and UTIBER Kft. Began together. The Szigetvár-Barcs section is not included in the order of the additional planning task of the ITM, its preparation may take place at a later stage, “NIF Zrt.

The South Transdanubia region of the country has long been waiting for this development: Employers, municipalities and the general public also expect an economic recovery, increased competitiveness and job creation from the continuation of the M60. Previous plans established that the investment would be carried out in two phases: in the first phase, about 33 kilometers from Pécs to Szigetvár, which has very heavy traffic, and in the second phase, between Szigetvár and Barcs, about 32 kilometers. Therefore, the entire route will finally be 64.4 kilometers.
