Basically we are interested in knowing if the momentum has been broken, if it is running to copy with minimal creative shifts, and of course how user friendly the device is. As usual, the product is available in two sizes, of which we had the largest piece, 45 mm in diameter.
Design: the same but different
While there are some very futuristic smartwatches out there already, Samsung has always favored a conservative design trend in the Galaxy Watch series, and that didn’t change in 2020 either. Thanks to this, the product completely resembles a traditional stopwatch at first glance, making it which we thought was a good decision. It comes with a leather strap that is stylish enough for an adult and of course easy to replace if needed.
Earlier versions of the Galaxy Watch have been criticized for the relative thickness of the case, but this has now been somewhat resolved. As a result, it is just over a centimeter high (11.1 mm), with a width of 45 mm and a length of 46.2 mm, in addition to a weight of 53.8 grams.
And all this means that it is comfortable to wear, but people with a thinner tip prefer the smaller model!
The ring around the dial can be turned and of course there are no buttons missing either, which play a key role in control. The model has received IP68 and MIL-STD 810G ratings, which means it’s also shock, dust, and water resistant.

Equipped with a larger and more luxurious screen than ever, the 1.4-inch diagonal screen has a resolution of 360 x 360 pixels. Thanks to the applied Super AMOLED technology, the colors are bright, penetrating and there is no trace of haze.
The model is capable of displaying 16 million tones, and this is the category that the best mobile phones produce today. And the brightness is high enough to use the product even in light and during the day without any problem. The screen is good for displaying photos and videos in totally nice quality, which is actually quite a futuristic experience.
Hang up
The model has a built-in low-power speaker and microphone, but its quality is practically sufficient for making phone calls. However You can connect wirelessly to audio devices, such as headphones, earphones, or even a speaker, through a Bluetooth connection. In this case, the sound quality is excellent.
Treatment
You can navigate the clock using the touch screen or the dial mentioned above. The graphical user interface looks great and it also communicates in Hungarian. Its structure is logical, the meaning of the icons and some menu items is clear, so it can be used quickly.
After a week, we already feel like we were born with this. The hardware provides adequate performance, so the speed is good and there are no complaints about the stability, that is, the product does not produce annoying freezing or jamming.
Power supply
The 340 mAh battery guarantees approximately two and a half days of operation. Either way, it’s not much, especially compared to a smart bracelet, but coming back to the relatively high performance and good display, it’s just plain devouring. This is the only point where Chinese competitors get past the rounds to solve Samsung’s solution, because their watches can last a week or even 10 days on a single charge.
Sports and Health
The product, of course, is equipped with a series of sensors that can measure heart rate, sleep quality, blood oxygen, and stress levels. as well as the various activities, that is, when, how much, how fast the user moved. As it is also equipped with an integrated GPS system, the movement tracking is very accurate. The data obtained can also be viewed on the device itself, so we can immediately see, for example, how much we ran, swam or pedaled, at what speed, for how long.
Furthermore, it can be transmitted via a Bluetooth wireless connection to a mobile device, where the values can also be viewed through the free Samsung Health app. This software is capable of storing data, you can also create beautiful graphs and tables from it, which can be very useful during workouts.
This app also includes over a hundred pre-installed workouts. If we select one, the activities measured by the clock are automatically synchronized by the software and it keeps track of how we perform. Some exercises also come with a video, which means that we constantly see on our mobile screen when we need to do something that is very useful and not the last motivation. One of the great novelties of the watch is that it can also check the quality of the movement during sports, so for example, when running, it can know if we are loading both legs correctly and if our posture is good. We haven’t seen anything like this before, and while we don’t know how much reality covers, we feel like we’re specifically wearing a PE teacher on our wrists.
Calls and messages
By connecting the watch to a mobile phone or a headset, in addition to having a speaker and microphone, it is possible to receive phone calls and SMS messages without having to pick up the phone. It is a very elegant and comfortable solution and in our experience it works well
In fact, we can even leave the phone at home and use it that way.
All this is due to the fact that the watch has a built-in SIM card (called eSIM), which after a short pairing process works as if we were using our own card. I am glad that this service is only supported by Telekom in Hungary at the moment, so not everyone can enjoy its benefits.
Clocks
Digital technology and a high-resolution display allow you to change the dials as you wish. Offering includes analog styles and visual-look versions. Furthermore, the user can modify them according to his own needs and expectations. That is, you can change the color and add features you like (like pedometer, heart rate, distance traveled, speed, etc.) or hide what you don’t need.
Applications and internet
The watch is capable of running certain applications, such as YouTube or Spotify, and even a web browser directly. This means that you can watch online videos and listen to songs online in class, as well as upload websites. Of course, neither the mail client nor the chat client is missing, that is, it is also possible to read the messages received in this form. They can also be answered for hours using the integrated virtual keyboard. Using this is a bit cumbersome due to the small screen.
Listen to music, film
The Galaxy Watch 3 is equipped with 8 GB of storage memory in which you can load music or video files. These can be played or viewed without any Bluetooth or mobilnet connection using the pre-installed media player application. This is nothing new, we’ve seen something similar before, but it’s good that it doesn’t stay here either.
Certificate
The Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 is an evolutionary step in the smartwatch segment and is a kind of transition to smartphones.
We can’t really get involved in anything, just uptime has altered our eyes a bit.
The performance, handling, display, and wealth of features are also top-notch, and the design is also very fine. However, we cannot ignore the fact that everything has a high price. Because the model currently costs 125,000 florins, which is clearly a high amount among smartwatches.
