Pérez’s separation leaves the door open for Vettel to join Racing Point. Vettel has only previously confirmed that he has “loose talks” with the team about his future plans, but has repeatedly said that he wants to stay in F1.
Pérez also previously said that he is not negotiating with other teams for a possible meeting next year, and also said in his announcement that he currently has no alternative.
