The Hungarian Tourism Agency has entered into a framework contract of 4.5 billion gross with Antenna Hungária Zrt. For the organization of warehouse concerts designed to support musicians without concert income – write 24.hu.

The framework agreement covers almost the total amount of 5.3 billion earmarked for the support of musicians, announced in a previous government information, only does not include the 800 million HUF that the government spends specifically in the support of Hungarian gypsy musicians.

The newspaper writes that Antenna Hungária’s current allocation is part of a larger budget request, of 30 billion, that the company received from the National Communications Office headed by Antal Rogán last summer to carry out tasks of organizing state events.

Antenna Hungária, whose portfolio did not previously include event organization, provided subcontractors with work and public funds from this assignment, such as

  • two Gyula Balásy companies, Lounge Design Kft. and New Land Media Kft., known for bidding for poster campaigns,
  • Moonlight Event Kft., Also involved in the interest of Balásy, event organization,
  • and Valton, known as the government’s favorite defense-guard firm, whose minority owner is Kata Sarka’s husband, István Bessenyei, who often appears around the affairs of Rogán’s ex-partner.

Among them, the Balásy Lounge Design company has already boasted of participating in the organization of warehouse concerts. However, the names of the other subcontractors are not yet known.

There is no data yet on how much of the budget for warehouse concerts will actually go to musicians and how much to organize and direct. All that is known is that MTÜ spends 600 million guilders on festival band concerts, 800 million guilders on the performance of gypsy musicians and a hitherto unknown amount on the performance of “living legends”.

The names of 90 of the 150 planned artists are already known. Post-production recordings of his concerts without an audience were promised to the general public in September by the project organizer.
