Index – National – Coronavirus: 411 new cases and two deaths in the last 24 hours

The new coronavirus infection (COVID-19) was detected in another 411 Hungarian citizens in the last 24 hours, thus increasing the number of infected people in Hungary to 9,715. Two chronically elderly people have died, leaving 628 dead and 3,984 already recovered. The number of active infected people is 5,103. 44 percent of them and 59 percent of the deceased and 42 percent of those recovered are from Budapest. There are currently 221 coronavirus patients in the hospital, 13 of whom are on ventilators.

As the data on new infections warn, the epidemic is not over, the second wave has reached Hungary, the number of active infections is increasing again, so it is still very important to maintain discipline, entry restrictions and regulations general hygiene – attention was drawn to the website koronavirus.gov.hu.

The introduction of the virus represents the greatest threat to the health and work of the Hungarian people, which is why the conditions for entry from abroad have been tightened again. According to the Statutes, foreign citizens cannot enter the territory of Hungary, and Hungarian citizens returning from abroad are required to have an official home quarantine of 14 days.

Attention was drawn to the fact that to curb social spread, we would continue to avoid places where there are a lot of people indoors, preferably maintain social distance, wash our hands frequently and thoroughly, wear a mask in stores and in the public transport.

Anyone who has been ordered to have an official home quarantine for a stay abroad or for any other reason must strictly comply. Anyone with symptoms should not go into the community but stay home and notify their GP by phone. By adhering to all of this, we can prevent the spread of infection and introduce new measures that restrict our daily lives.
