The new coronavirus infection (COVID-19) was detected in 411 new Hungarian citizens, increasing the number of infected people identified in Hungary to 9,715, according to the government information website.

Two elderly patients with chronic diseases have died, bringing the death toll to 628 and 3,984 have already recovered. The number of active infected people is 5,103. 44% of the actively infected, 59% of the dead and 42% of those recovered are from Budapest. There are 221 hospitalized coronavirus patients, 13 of whom are hooked up to a ventilator.

As they write, as the data on new infections warn, the epidemic is not over, the second wave has reached Hungary, the number of active infections is increasing again, so it is still very important to maintain discipline, entry restrictions and general hygiene rules.

The introduction of the virus represents the greatest threat to the health and work of the Hungarian people, which is why the conditions for entry from abroad have been tightened again. According to the Statutes, foreign citizens cannot enter the territory of Hungary, and Hungarian citizens returning from abroad are required to have an official home quarantine of 14 days.

To curb social spread, we will continue to avoid places where there are a lot of people inside, preferably maintaining social distance, washing our hands frequently and thoroughly, wearing the mask in stores and on public transport. Anyone who has been ordered to have an official home quarantine for a stay abroad or for any other reason must strictly comply. Anyone with symptoms should not go into the community but stay home and notify their GP by phone. By adhering to all of this, we can prevent the spread of infection and introduce new measures that restrict our daily lives.
