As we wrote, the Conference of Hungarian Rectors and the National Conference of Student Municipalities (HÖOK) initiated a consultation on the situation of the University of Theater and Film Arts (SZFE). The invitation was accepted by the principal of the university and the principal of the maintainer of the university, but the director of the student government of the university declined the invitation after voting on the subject in the student forum today.

Mihály Csernai, President of the EHÖK, Secretary of the Hungarian Rectors Conference, dr. His letter to Zoltán Dubéczi was published on his Facebook page:

“We voted on the issue in today’s student forum. Here we find that we hold the position that Attila Vidnyánszky and the board of directors are illegitimate for the students, they were appointed by undemocratic means, so we do not want to negotiate with them, as there is nothing about it. We will continue to hold our points, not as part of a negotiation, but as a basis. “

The letter then states that since there is so far no indication that his points have been accepted and that Attila Vidnyánszky does not consider himself a legitimate negotiating partner, therefore, their participation in the event would be unjustified and incompatible in terms of its points and objectives.

If Attila Vidnyánszky or the members of the board of directors are not present, so that the maintainer not accepted by us does not participate in the hearing, we are ready to renegotiate the issue in the student forum. We would like to share our concerns and questions about the University and its autonomy with both HÖOK and the Hungarian Rectors’ Conference.
